The short version

We don’t track you

Off to the Races has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no advertising trackers and no analytics. We don’t set cookies, and we don’t store anything in your browser.

Who we are

Who is responsible for your data

This site is run by Peter Taylor trading as Does Your Duck Quack?, 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AN. For anything about your data, email webmaster@offtotheraces.co.uk.

What we collect

The little information involved

When you visit

Like any website, our hosting provider’s servers keep standard technical logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We don’t use these to identify you.

Fonts

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.

If you email us

We use your email address and message only to reply and to correct the guide. We don’t add you to any mailing list, and we delete correspondence when it’s no longer needed.

The trip-cost estimator

The figures you type into the estimator stay in your browser. They aren’t sent to us or saved.

Links to other sites

Racecourses, partners and other websites

We are an affiliate of Booking.com through Commission Junction (CJ). Clicking a hotel link may set a CJ or Booking.com cookie to record that a booking came from us, so we may earn a commission. This does not change the price you pay. Other links take you to independent sites, whose own privacy policies and cookies apply.

Your rights

Your data, your choice

Under UK data protection law you can ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email webmaster@offtotheraces.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

If this notice changes

If we add anything that changes how we handle data, such as analytics or a newsletter, we’ll update this page first and change the date at the top.
