Punter’s PackagePublished package price; minimum booking of 15£20 per person

The booking page directs visitors to select a fixture to see that day’s General Admission price, and does not show a fixed amount in its static text. The separate Punter’s Package page lists £20 per person and a minimum purchase of 15; its current description includes admission, racecard, a £5 bookmaker voucher, a pint or equivalent and a beef roll. Hospitality and Punter’s Packages must be pre-booked. The FAQ says General Admission can be bought online or at the turnstiles, while the ticket page also contains an online-only statement, so the venue’s own pages conflict on gate purchase.

Where your ticket takes you

The view

General Admission gives access to the public parts of Downpatrick Racecourse, including the grandstand, Parade Ring, winning post and seating areas. The course has a compact, undulating jumps track with an uphill finish; the grandstand or winning-post areas provide different ways to follow a race. The public ticket does not reserve a particular seat, so move around and choose where to watch. The Parade Ring is useful before each race to see the runners close up, and the winning-post area brings you near the finish. Hospitality rooms have their own facilities and booking terms, but the main enclosure remains the most flexible way to spend the day. Ask staff which public access points are open on the chosen fixture.

Food and drink

Food is sold separately around the public areas. Downpatrick names three outlets in its FAQ and also has bars and betting facilities.

The Hatch

A street-food outlet at the back of the Grandstand, identified by the racecourse as a public food choice.

Posh Nosh Bistro

The racecourse describes traditional meals at this bistro beside the Owners’ Lounge.

Wrap and Roll

A light-bite option at the back of the Grandstand for visitors who want something simpler between races.

Bars and betting

The FAQ says the Tote can be found in hospitality areas and bars and traditional bookmakers are positioned down by the Parade Ring.

Facilities

Grandstand and seating

Public access includes the grandstand and seating areas, so visitors have a place to sit between races.

Betting

The course has Tote facilities in its hospitality areas and bars, and bookmakers around the Parade Ring. Betting is optional.

Parking

On-site parking is available. A reserved Blue Badge car park has limited spaces and operates first come, first served.

Cash machine

There is no ATM on site; the FAQ says cashback is available from the raceday office.

Dress code

Downpatrick has no set dress code and says casual clothing is acceptable in the main enclosure. The quick guide on its FAQ is smart casual, but that is advice rather than an entry condition for General Admission. On Ladies Day and feature dates, some visitors dress up; it is entirely your choice. The course stages jumps racing into the colder months and recommends clothing for unpredictable weather. Bring a waterproof and warm layers if you plan to watch from open areas, and wear comfortable shoes for walking between the Parade Ring, grandstand and finish area. Guide or hearing dogs are allowed with notice; other dogs are not permitted for health and safety reasons.

Getting in

Downpatrick’s ticket booking page lists each 2026 fixture and says to select the chosen date to see that day’s General Admission price. The FAQ says General Admission can be purchased online or at the turnstiles, but the booking page also displays an online-only notice, so its own pages do not agree on walk-up availability. The final 2026 meeting listed here is Friday 9 October: gates open at 1pm and the first race is approximately 2:10pm. Treat those as meeting-specific times. Hospitality and Punter’s Packages must be booked in advance. Free parking is available, with a small first-come reserved area for Blue Badge holders; the site is about 0.6 miles from Downpatrick Bus Centre.

Accessibility

The racecourse FAQ says the venue is fully wheelchair and disabled accessible and asks visitors who need extra assistance to contact the office. A reserved Blue Badge parking area is available, but spaces are limited and first come, first served. The accessibility page does not map individual routes, accessible toilet locations, viewing positions or personal-assistant ticket arrangements. Ask the venue about the specific path between the turnstiles, public seating, Parade Ring and winning post if you need step-free access. Contact the office on 028 4461 2054 or info@downpatrickracecourse.co.uk. Guide and hearing dogs are accepted with notice; other dogs are not permitted.

Children and families

Downpatrick’s current FAQ does not publish a general child ticket price or a current under-18 supervision rule. It does say students and older people can get reduced General Admission rates by contacting the office, with proof of student status or age required at the turnstiles. A 2018 family-day brochure and an old pandemic notice are not current enough to use as today’s child policy. Ask the office about the selected 2026 fixture’s child ticket, any age limit and whether a child needs a separate ticket. If booking the £20 Punter’s Package, the published minimum of 15 applies to the package purchase, but the page does not specify a child version or reduced package rate.

Tips

Upgrading

For pre-booked hospitality, compare the Byerley Turk Suite (up to 12 guests), Brownlow Suite (up to 100) and Dunleath Suite (more than 350). A Punter’s Package is another advance-booked option for groups of at least 15 and includes extra items with admission.
