Accessibility at Pontefract Racecourse

The racecourse publishes step-free routes in all enclosures, lifts, accessible toilets, viewing ramps and a free personal-assistant ticket process. Some fixture pages also advertise autism-friendly arrangements including quiet and sensory spaces.

Talk to the racecourse first

Email info@pontefract-races.co.uk, or call 01977 781307, or use the racecourse contact page. Tell them the meeting, your ticket, how you are arriving, any equipment you use and the facilities you need.

Your visit, step by step

  1. Apply for a personal-assistant ticket

Buy your own valid ticket for the same fixture, then book the assistant’s complimentary ticket online or by telephone on 01977 781307. Eligibility currently includes DLA, Attendance Allowance, PIP, Armed Forces Independence Payment or registered blindness; the racecourse asks for the relevant award letter or certification and matching photo ID. A Blue Badge alone is not accepted as evidence.

  2. Use step-free access and plan sensory needs

All three enclosures have step-free access, accessible toilets and viewing ramps. Lifts in the Main Stand and Dalby Stand serve all floors. On fixture pages marked autism-friendly, the racecourse describes a dedicated sensory room and quiet/safe spaces with complimentary soft drinks and biscuits. Contact the office in advance about an individual access requirement.
