Accessibility at Thirsk Racecourse

Thirsk publishes an access statement and accepts its own free digital Access Card for companion-ticket requests. Contact the racecourse Access Officer before travel to discuss a particular requirement.

Talk to the racecourse first

Email info@thirskracecourse.net, or call 01845 522276, or use the racecourse contact page. Tell them the meeting, your ticket, how you are arriving, any equipment you use and the facilities you need.

Your visit, step by step

  1. Arrange companion entry

Register for the racecourse’s free Digital Access Card, then call 01845 522276 with its ID to add a complimentary companion ticket to a booking. If you already hold tickets, give the office your booking reference and Access Card ID; the course also accepts the card confirmation at the entrance. Its current criteria cover DLA, Attendance Allowance, PIP, Armed Forces Independence Payment or registered blind status, with supporting evidence and matching photo ID. A Blue Badge alone is not accepted as eligibility proof.

  2. Plan accessible viewing and facilities

The official course map marks accessible parking, toilets and viewing points, including areas by the parade ring and track. The racecourse recognises the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme and offers a familiarisation visit on a non-raceday by prior arrangement; call the Access Officer on 01845 522276 to discuss access routes and facilities for your enclosure.
