Talk to the racecourse first
Email nw.tickets@thejockeyclub.co.uk, or call 0151 522 2921. Tell them the meeting, your ticket, how you are arriving, any equipment you use and the facilities you need.
Your visit, step by step
Personal assistant tickets
If you receive PIP, DLA, AA or AFIP, send a copy of your current award letter with your booking details and the racecourse will add a free personal assistant ticket. There’s no minimum age, and they can also be issued on the day with proof.
Accessible parking
For the Grand National there is limited accessible parking in the County and Steeplechase car parks, which must be reserved by phone or email; bring your Blue Badge. A private shuttle runs from the Steeplechase car park. At other racedays accessible parking can’t be reserved.
Which stands are step-free
The Princess Royal Stand and the Festival Zone are fully accessible, and the Earl of Derby and Lord Sefton Stands have lifts (but not their terraces). The Queen Mother Stand has a few steps to the seats. The Lord Daresbury Stand, West Tip and Garden Club have no lifts. All hospitality is accessible except the 1750 restaurant.
Viewing platforms
At the Grand National there are wheelchair platforms by the Mound near West Tip and overlooking the Parade Ring; at other racedays, only the Parade Ring platform. Neither can be booked.
Toilets, dogs and medication
Accessible toilets are in all the main stands and need a RADAR key. Assistance dogs are welcome; let the team know in advance. For medication or medical equipment, you can ask for a letter of exemption.
What isn’t available
There’s no buggy service and no wheelchair or scooter hire, and Access and Nimbus cards aren’t accepted yet. Ask the team about hearing support before you go.
