Where your ticket takes you

Not included

The view

The standard ticket takes you to the Grandstand and the final furlong, where you can stand near the track as the field races towards the winning line. The Grandstand has a roof but remains open to the elements. The Parade Ring and Winners’ Enclosure are included, so you can see the horses close up before a race and after the result. Bath’s map describes the separate Premier Enclosure as the area next to the winning line with premium facilities, but the current 2026 event pages list the standard admission product as access to Grandstand public areas; this guide covers that published general-admission ticket.

Food and drink

The public enclosure has a changing mix of bars and food concessions, rather than one fixed dining offer.

Food concessions

Bath says public choices include pizza, loaded fries and sandwiches. The mix of open stalls depends on how busy the fixture is expected to be.

Public bars

Bars operate across the public areas. Alcohol cannot be brought in, and the racecourse sells alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on site.

Restaurants

The Royal Crescent Restaurant and other dining packages are booked separately as hospitality; they are not part of standard admission.

Facilities

Parade Ring

Included with general admission, this is where you can inspect the runners before each race.

Betting

Public betting outlets are available across the Grandstand area, alongside the course Tote facilities.

Toilets

Accessible toilets are located in the main Grandstand enclosure as well as other parts of the site.

Shelter

The Grandstand roof offers overhead shelter, but the structure is open to the weather at the sides.

Dress code

There is no formal dress code for standard Grandstand admission. Bath prohibits sports team shirts and offensive fancy dress, as well as ripped jeans and old training shoes. Many visitors choose smart casual clothes, but comfort and the weather matter more than dressing formally. Much of the viewing is outdoors on Lansdown Hill, so bring a warm or waterproof layer in October and shoes suitable for walking on grass.

Getting in

Enter through the main turnstiles. Bath says gates typically open two hours before the first race; the actual time is on the fixture page. The Season Finale on 29 October 2026 opened at 11:12 for a 13:12 first race. Tickets can be scanned from a phone or printed copy. Expect a security bag search and do not bring alcohol onto the course. On-the-day admission can be bought at the gate by card, though the accessibility guide says only general admission is sold there.

Accessibility

A wheelchair viewing platform is positioned near the winning post in the Grandstand area; only one wheelchair user and one personal assistant can use it at a time. Accessible toilets are available in the main Grandstand, and designated parking bays are close to the main entrance for Blue Badge holders who tell a steward on arrival. The racecourse offers a free personal-assistant ticket: buy the guest’s full-price ticket, bring supporting evidence to the turnstiles, and ask staff for the badge. Bath asks for an email at least 24 hours before the fixture if you want to arrange this in advance; it is subject to availability.

Children and families

Children aged 17 and under go free at most Bath fixtures with a paying adult, up to three children per adult. On the 19 and 29 October 2026 fixture pages, children did not need to book ahead and were issued a free ticket at the entrance. Exclusions apply on some special fixtures. Seniors aged 60 and students received £5 off the gate price in the 2026 FAQ, with proof requested; this concession is only for Grandstand tickets.
