Dress code
There is no formal dress code at Cheltenham, but Club is the smartest enclosure: most racegoers wear a jacket or smart coat, and many wear tweed at the Festival. Fancy dress isn’t allowed in Club. Wear comfortable shoes and warm, waterproof layers, as much of the day is outdoors in March.
Getting in
Use the main entrances shown on your ticket. The Best Mate gates at the south of the site are for Best Mate tickets. Gates open at 10:30 on Festival days; the first race is at 13:30 and the last at 17:30. Suitcases and holdalls aren’t allowed in; there is left luggage outside the Best Mate, North and Centaur entrances.
Accessibility
Club has accessible viewing areas and accessible toilets. Book an accessible ticket, and a free personal assistant ticket if you qualify, in advance through the accessibility team on 01242 472593 or cheltenham.accessibility@thejockeyclub.co.uk (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm). A Blue Badge alone isn’t accepted as proof.
Children and families
At the Festival, children aged 5 and over need a half-price ticket and under-5s are free but still need a ticket. Under-18s must be with an adult aged over 21, and each adult should look after no more than two under-18s. Outside the Festival, under-18s go free with a booked child ticket.
Tips
- Book Gold Cup Day first: it sells out before the other days. Wednesday is the cheapest Festival day.
- Watch a race from the Parade Ring end and another from Best Mate’s head-on view; your Club ticket covers both.
- Arrive soon after the gates open at 10:30 to find a spot on the steps before the first race.
- Bring cash for the bookmakers and a card for everything else.
Upgrading
If you already have a Tattersalls or Best Mate ticket, upgrades are sometimes offered on the official site before the day, subject to availability.
Questions people ask
Does a Club ticket get me into Tattersalls and Best Mate?
Yes. Club ticket holders can use every Tattersalls and Best Mate area as well as Club.
Is there a dress code in the Club Enclosure?
There’s no formal dress code, but Club is the smartest enclosure and fancy dress isn’t allowed. Smart clothes with warm, waterproof layers are best.
How much is a Club ticket for the Cheltenham Festival?
Early-bird prices for 2027 were £79 to £105 per adult depending on the day, with Wednesday cheapest and Gold Cup Friday dearest. On the gate in 2026 Club was £126.
Can I see the horses before the race with a Club ticket?
Yes. Club includes Parade Ring viewing, where the runners are paraded before each race.
Is Club worth the extra over Tattersalls?
