Searches below check in 3 June 2027 and check out 6 June 2027, covering the whole Festival. Adjust them for a shorter visit.
Two racing days and your overnight dates
The Jockey Club confirms the Oaks on Friday 4 June and the Derby on Saturday 5 June 2027. For both days, arrange arrival before Friday’s racing and consider staying after Saturday rather than relying on a rushed journey home. The accommodation searches should reflect those nights; adjust them if your visit is only for one afternoon.
Before booking, decide whether you want to stay near the Festival or use it as one part of a wider London trip. That choice changes which station and property address matter most. Check that your room arrival time fits your ticket day. If you arrive on Saturday morning, ask about luggage and early access rather than assuming you can leave everything at reception before heading to the Downs.
Epsom
Epsom is the initial search for a plan built around the venue’s station shuttle. The official travel page says buses run from Epsom railway station to the racecourse each Festival day and return to Epsom town centre. Check both ends against your property address, since the return description does not simply promise delivery to your hotel.
Compare the walk to the station with your likely return to the room. A listing using Epsom as its location can still be outside the comfortable walking range for your group. Ask about breakfast and check-in, and identify the shuttle departure before travel. If you intend to walk any stage, assess the actual route and footwear rather than measuring the straight-line distance on the map.

Sutton
Sutton gives another room search when you are prepared to verify the railway or road route to the Festival. Choose which of the three local stations you intend to use, then confirm the itinerary from your particular departure point. Check whether your journey needs an interchange, including how you would make it on the return.
If the accommodation needs a bus or taxi to your departure station, include that leg in both directions. Check Saturday evening services before treating this as a simple overnight base. For companions who will arrive from different places, agree a meeting point at the course or local station. Choosing the room first and trying to assemble the transport later can leave an avoidable gap in the return.

Kingston
A Kingston search may suit a broader stay, but it needs a specific route to Epsom Downs rather than a general promise of being near London. Establish public transport or a booked road transfer for your chosen racing day. If using public transport, identify each stage to one of the venue’s local stations and the entrance beyond it.
Check the property postcode and how you would reach the first departure point with your raceday belongings. For a car-based visit, compare the parking arrangements at the hotel and course separately. If you rely on a taxi back, decide which Festival pickup point your driver will use. The convenience of a town as a leisure base does not by itself establish a convenient racecourse journey.

Leatherhead
Leatherhead widens the accommodation comparison for a journey you can verify in advance. Look at the exact property position and choose whether rail, driving or an arranged transfer fits your party. Confirm the service and its return departure for your racing date, then add the local transfer at either end.
For several guests sharing a vehicle, check luggage space as well as passenger seats on arrival and departure. If you will leave the car at the accommodation and use another transfer for racing, ask where it may remain and whether checkout changes that permission. A room advertised with parking may have limits on spaces or timings; establish them directly before comparing it with a town-centre stay.

Croydon
Croydon is another wider base to test against a real timetable. Select your departure station and check the route to Epsom, Epsom Downs or Tattenham Corner for 4 or 5 June. Follow an operator-checked itinerary and note where you must change so the group can complete the journey together.
Map the last part from the local arrival station to your Festival entrance. For the return, work back from a train you can comfortably reach after leaving the course. If the property is beyond a straightforward walk from your station in Croydon, allow for that final transfer too. Ask about late room access so you have a workable plan even if the earlier journey takes longer.

Central London
Central London is a broad search, so choose accommodation around a verified journey rather than an attractive district alone. Identify the departure station serving the local Epsom-area station you need, then compare the hotel-to-station leg. Use the rail planner to identify the appropriate terminus and any changes from the accommodation’s nearest station.
If you want to combine the Derby with other activities in London, keep the raceday return in view while making evening reservations. Allow for the racecourse exit, the local station connection and your onward city journey. A timed restaurant booking immediately after the shortest possible train arrival can make the day unnecessarily pressured. Consider whether moving the evening plans later would make the room choice more useful.

Three local stations and the Epsom shuttle
The venue lists Tattenham Corner, Epsom and Epsom Downs as the local stations serving the racecourse. Its travel page says detailed timetables and extra services will be available ahead of the event. Use that publication when it appears, alongside your railway operator’s planner, instead of assuming every station has identical services or entrance access.
The current page lists an Epsom station shuttle at £3 single or £5 return, with cash-only payment, and departure windows of 9:30am–2pm outbound and 3:30pm–7:30pm returning. Reconfirm these details for the 2027 visit. The published bus destination on the way back is Epsom town centre, so check how you will continue to your property or railway platform.
Free Festival parking and taxi pickup
The official Derby travel page says parking across the Festival is free and recommends arranging parking ahead to secure your preferred location. That is a recommendation to plan the parking, rather than a statement that every car is prohibited without an advance booking. Follow the sign colour matching your chosen parking location.
Pickup and drop-off are directed to Car Park 8 outside the Derby Arms, and the venue asks visitors not to enter or leave vehicles on the roundabout. Tell a booked driver the specified pickup location and agree how to contact one another. Check your ticket entrance before choosing a parking or collection route; a general racecourse postcode will not settle the final approach.
Book the room around a complete journey
Compare accommodation when you know your ticket day and preferred transport. Check the available room type and the amount offered for your precise dates and guest count. Use the actual full-stay quote, including breakfast, parking and required transfers, to compare a local Epsom room with a farther base. Read the deposit, payment schedule and cancellation deadline before committing.
If the rooms you find are unsuitable, adjust the length of stay or test another area against its return timetable. A one-day visit with a checked journey home could be preferable to a distant room that adds several uncertain connections. Ask a property about bed arrangements and access needs; do not rely on the headline occupancy figure for a group with specific requirements.
Keep separate records for the room and admission. If your racing plans change, each provider’s conditions will determine what can be altered or refunded. Finish the booking decision by writing the sequence from course exit to accommodation door, including the final local connection. If that sequence is unresolved, the room is not yet a complete Derby weekend plan.
