Park & View Picnic Car Park at Leicester
Park & View is a limited picnic car park beside the track, available only on Leicester’s two official family days. It gives your party a place to eat food brought from home and watch from the car, with a separate per-car charge and adult admission required.

- A picnic area where food brought from home must be eaten on official Family Days.
- General public areas only if each adult occupant also holds a racecourse admission ticket.
Not included
- Racecourse admission: all adult occupants must buy an admission ticket separately.
- A reserved or guaranteed space: availability is first come, first served.
- Any separate hospitality suite or Owners & Trainers Lounge access.
The view
This is a car park beside the course, not a grandstand or reserved seat. The racecourse calls it Park & View, so visitors can watch from their car; for closer views of the horses, buy admission and walk to the public trackside and Parade Ring areas.
Food and drink
The Park & View area is the designated place to eat brought-in food on official family days.
Bring a picnic
Outside food is normally not permitted, but on official Family Days the course says food must be eaten in the picnic car park area.
Course catering
Food and drink can be bought elsewhere on site; racecourse outlets are card-only and there is no cash machine.
Facilities
Car-side viewing
The course describes the area as Park & View; no grandstand seat is part of the car parking charge.
Free re-entry
The FAQ says visitors can leave and re-enter the course on all dates, so you can return to your car.
First come, first served
The Park & View spaces are limited and the racecourse does not take a booking for a guaranteed bay in its FAQ.
Dress code
Leicester does not enforce a strict dress code at race meetings. The Park & View space is outdoors, so dress for the forecast and bring layers. If you plan to walk into the public enclosure, comfortable shoes will help on the course grounds.
Getting in
Park & View is offered only on the two family days and spaces are first come, first served. The FAQ currently lists £5 per car; every adult occupant also needs admission. Use the family-day ticket page for door and race times. Visitors may bring food on Family Days but must eat it in the picnic car park; standard bag searches apply at racecourse entrances.
Accessibility
AccessAble describes the main visitor car park as an open-air grass surface with no designated Blue Badge bays; alternative tarmac parking near the Betting Hall and Grandstand may be arranged in advance for visitors with mobility needs. The racecourse does not publish dedicated Park & View bay dimensions or an accessible viewing position. Contact its access officers on 0116 271 6515 before relying on this car park. A free personal assistant admission can be requested in advance with qualifying evidence; a Blue Badge alone is not accepted as proof.
Children and families
Under-18s attend race meetings free with a paying adult, except Ladies Day, and no child ticket is needed according to the ticket listing. Children must remain with a paying adult. The £5 Park & View charge applies per car, while each adult still requires admission.
Tips
- Arrive early: the limited spaces are first come, first served and the Park & View car park does not guarantee a place.
- Budget £5 per car plus a separate adult admission ticket for each adult occupant.
- On Family Days, eat brought-in food in the picnic car park; the course prohibits outside food and drink elsewhere.
- If you need firm ground or accessible parking, arrange an alternative with the racecourse because the main visitor car park is grass.
