Accessibility at Newmarket Racecourses

Newmarket has two courses with slightly different arrangements. Here is what applies on racedays.

Talk to the racecourse first

Use the racecourse contact page. Tell them the meeting, your ticket, how you are arriving, any equipment you use and the facilities you need.

Your visit, step by step

  1. Personal assistant tickets

Collect the free personal assistant ticket from the Free Pass Office on the day, from gates opening. Bring photo ID for the assistant and proof of your purchased ticket; both of you must be there to collect it. Don’t choose print-at-home tickets.

  2. Parking

Blue Badge parking can’t be pre-booked: show your badge and a marshal will direct you. At the July Course, Grandstand & Paddock and Garden Enclosure ticket holders use Gate 4 and Premier ticket holders Gate 2. A golf buggy can take you from your car to the entrance, but it can’t carry wheelchairs.

  3. The July Course

There are lifts in Stands 2 and 3, leading to accessible toilets and a covered viewing terrace, and a platform lift to a viewing platform at the front of the stand.

  4. Shuttle bus

The free shuttle drops off right outside the Grandstand & Paddock entrance at the Rowley Mile.
