Dining & Hospitality at Taunton
Taunton sells dining packages and hospitality spaces separately from general admission. The public can book a course-view table in the Orchard Restaurant or a table and buffet in the Exmoor Suite; private boxes are arranged with the hospitality team. The Paddock Restaurant is reserved for annual members and owners or trainers with a runner.

Who it suits
- Racegoers who want a reserved table and a meal while keeping a view of the course.
- Groups celebrating or entertaining and looking for a private box or hospitality suite rather than an open public seating area.
- Visitors who prefer to know in advance that admission, catering and a racecard or hot drink are part of their booked package.

Prices are the racecourse’s published rates checked on 3 October 2026. The Exmoor Room ticket page gives a fixed £49 price for 26 November 2026. Orchard Restaurant starts at £90, or £95 on premium fixtures. The Paddock Restaurant is a two-course lunch from £37 (£40 for a window table) but is limited to annual members and owners or trainers with a runner, so it is not a public upgrade from General Admission. Hospitality packages include course admission; there is no separate on-the-day price for the dining package.
Where your ticket takes you
- Orchard Restaurant: reserved table for the meeting overlooking the entire course, with admission and a racecard included.
- Exmoor Suite: course access, dedicated table, hot-and-cold buffet, racecard and hot drink.
- Private hospitality boxes and suites: book through the racecourse team for a group-specific package with course views and dedicated service.
- Paddock Restaurant: a separate two-course dining option, but only for annual members and owners or trainers with a horse running that day.
Not included
- All-you-can-book access to every restaurant: Paddock Restaurant is members and connections only, while general public dining products have their own booking terms.
- A public purchase of the Paddock Stand; it is a members’ and racing connections’ area rather than a general-admission enclosure.
- A fixed rate for every private-box fixture. Taunton asks groups to contact hospitality sales for a tailored price.
The view
The Orchard Restaurant is positioned above the track, giving diners a bird’s-eye view of the course from a reserved table. The Exmoor Suite offers a dedicated table, buffet, racecard and hot drink, but is up a flight of stairs. Private boxes are listed on the racecourse hospitality page as course-viewing spaces and are booked through the team. The Paddock Restaurant has views over the course and paddock but is reserved for annual members and owners or trainers with a runner. These dining tickets include admission as specified by Taunton; guests can also use the public areas included in the course ticket, subject to the access restrictions for their package.
Food and drink
Meals and refreshments are part of the named package, while the Saddle Room Café in the Orchard Stand remains a public walk-in option.
Orchard Restaurant
The package includes a three-course lunch, afternoon tea and unlimited coffee, alongside a racecard and the table for the entire meeting.
Exmoor Suite
The ticket includes a hot-and-cold light buffet and a hot drink. The dining room is dedicated to booked guests.
Paddock Restaurant
This members-and-connections restaurant offers a two-course served lunch. It is not a public alternative for a general admission visitor.
Saddle Room Café
A public café in the Orchard Stand with walk-in service, freshly cooked fish and chips, pie of the day and other raceday food.
Facilities
Reserved table
Orchard Restaurant and Exmoor Suite packages include a table for the meeting. A general admission ticket does not reserve a seat.
Racecard and betting
The Orchard Restaurant has an in-room Tote kiosk. Orchard and Exmoor packages include a racecard; the Exmoor package also includes a hot drink.
Private boxes
Taunton offers private boxes and suites for groups through its hospitality team. Prices and catering can be built around the selected fixture and party.
Dress code
Taunton has no compulsory dress code, but the racecourse encourages restaurant patrons and hospitality-suite guests to dress smartly. Warm, weatherproof clothing and practical shoes are still useful because guests move between the indoor dining area and outdoor viewing points. The Exmoor Suite is only reached by stairs; consider this before booking if anyone in your group needs step-free access.
Getting in
Book the package for your fixture with Taunton’s hospitality team or through the official TicketCo event listing where available. E-tickets are emailed, and hospitality packages include course admission. The gates normally open two hours before the first race; on Autumn Raceday, 26 November 2026, the published gate time is 10:20am. Use either the Main Entrance or Taunton End Gate unless your confirmation gives different instructions. Book Raceday Packages by noon the day before racing; restaurant tables should be reserved in advance.
Accessibility
The Orchard Restaurant and most hospitality boxes in the Orchard Stand have lift access and level entry to the table or box. Taunton specifically excludes the Exmoor Suite from this provision; it can only be reached by a flight of stairs. The Paddock and Orchard stands have lifts; the Portman Stand does not. Accessible toilets are in Orchard, Paddock and centre-course buildings. The racecourse advises disabled guests to speak to hospitality sales before booking so the room suits wheelchair or scooter access. Eligible visitors may arrange one free personal assistant ticket with their admission; the assistant collects it on the day with the requested supporting evidence.
Children and families
The hospitality package’s ticket includes admission, and Taunton’s general rule is that accompanied under-18s enter free with a paying adult. The restaurant pages do not state child meal prices or whether a child’s free admission includes a reserved meal seat, so ask the hospitality team about the specific package and child catering before booking. Children under 12 cannot enter the parade ring or winners’ enclosure, even when accompanied.
Tips
- Compare Orchard and Exmoor by what matters to your group: Orchard has a panoramic course view and three-course service; Exmoor offers a lighter buffet and is stair-only.
- Ask about the fixture price before planning around an Orchard table; the published rate rises from £90 to £95 on premium dates.
- Paddock Restaurant is not a public hospitality choice unless you are an annual member or an owner/trainer with a runner.
- Tell hospitality sales about mobility needs before paying; Taunton recommends this so the room and route can be checked.
Upgrading
General admission can be upgraded with a Raceday Package, which adds a snack voucher, drink voucher and racecard. For reserved dining, book Orchard Restaurant or Exmoor Suite. Contact the racecourse for a private box or a group package.
