Dress code
Smart casual: no ripped or torn denim and no trainers. On the Ladies Days most racegoers dress up, with dresses, hats and fascinators. No football colours anywhere.
Getting in
Gates normally open two hours before the first race, and tickets are sold at the gate when it opens, subject to availability. Ayr station is about 20 minutes’ walk away, or under five minutes by taxi.
Accessibility
Ayr is mostly flat and on hard standing. Use Gate C, which slopes down into the course; accessible parking is under 50 metres from the main entrance, and a lift by the Ayrshire Suite goes up to the Princess Royal Suite. Free carers’ tickets are available at every meeting: book on 01292 264179.
Children and families
Under-18s go free with a full-paying adult (some fixtures have exclusions). They can’t use the Cree Lodge Bar, Be-friendly Bar, Champagne Bar or Champagne Lawns, and under-12s can’t enter the Parade Ring or Winners’ Enclosure.
Tips
- Book early: the early-bird National tickets sell out months ahead.
- Head to the Champagne Lawns before the big race to see the runners in the Parade Ring.
- Look out for the Style Awards on the Ladies Days.
