The view
Grandstand & Paddock provides views from the main Grandstand, lawns and trackside public spaces near the winning post. The Parade Ring is part of this ticket, so you can see the horses before their races. The Grandstand offers some indoor shelter, while most of the viewing is outdoors. Brighton’s track is an undulating horseshoe with a steep climb from the city; the racecourse’s elevated position brings views over Brighton and the sea. A Premier ticket includes these public areas as well as its own facilities.
Food and drink
This is the main public food-and-drink area, with named bar facilities and changing concessions.
Long Bar
Brighton’s FAQs name the Long Bar among the facilities in Grandstand & Paddock.
Food units
A range of public food units is available. Brighton says which concessions open can depend on expected attendance at a fixture.
Premier Bar
The Premier Bar is not included with this ticket; it requires Premier admission.
Facilities
Betting
The area has britbet pool betting and on-course bookmakers.
Grandstand and lawns
The public ticket includes Grandstand access, lawn viewing and seating.
Picnic area
Picnics may be eaten in the external Grandstand & Paddock areas, but drinks cannot be brought into any racecourse area.
Family facilities
Baby-changing facilities are in the men’s and women’s toilets in Grandstand & Paddock.
Dress code
Brighton has no set formal dress code, but sporting tops are prohibited. The racecourse encourages personal style and says comfort matters; most public viewing is outdoors, so dress for the weather and use sensible footwear. On summer feature days many visitors dress up, but formalwear is not compulsory.
Getting in
Enter through the main entrance at Brighton Racecourse, Freshfield Road, BN2 9XZ. The event ticket is scanned from a phone or tablet, or you can print it. The fixture page says gates usually open two hours before the first race, and earlier for feature meetings. For 6 October 2026, gates open 11:38 and the first race is 13:38; for 15 October, gates open 11:53 and the first race is 13:53. The general FAQ says gate purchases are card only.
Accessibility
The venue has accessible parking in the Owners & Trainers car park, lift access to each level, wheelchair access to main public areas and accessible toilets. Its third-floor viewing platform is reached by the Premier Suite lift. Free personal assistant tickets are issued at the entrance when the guest presents accepted evidence such as DLA, PIP, Attendance Allowance or AFIP. Contact the office on 01273 603580 or info@brighton-racecourse.co.uk for specific routes or access needs.
Children and families
Under-18s are generally admitted free when accompanying a paying adult; exceptions apply to some Festival fixtures and Live After Racing events. Adults may bring up to three children and collect the free child tickets at the ticket office or turnstile on the day. Baby-changing facilities are in both men’s and women’s toilets in this enclosure.
Tips
- Book in advance for the published £18 October 2026 price; the Season Finale group advance listing was £15 per person for groups of eight or more.
- Bring a picnic only if you plan to eat in the outdoor Grandstand & Paddock areas; drinks, including soft drinks, cannot be brought in.
- Arrive early if you want to watch the horses in the Parade Ring before a race.
- Ask about the Premier upgrade at the racecourse office; transfers depend on capacity and are not guaranteed.
Upgrading
Brighton says transfers between enclosures depend on capacity. If you want the Premier Stand, Premier Bar or Parade Ring Lawn, ask at the racecourse office whether a ticket upgrade is available on your fixture.
