The view

The enclosure is inside the track and the racecourse describes a view of both the Flat and National Hunt courses. It is a different angle from the tiered main grandstands and is useful for bringing a picnic. On most winter jumps fixtures the bar is only open as shelter, except 28 December and New Year’s Day.

Food and drink

You can bring a picnic to this enclosure; the course limits alcohol brought in to personal consumption.

Picnics

Bring food into the Course Enclosure. Picnics must enter through the Course Enclosure entrance and cannot be carried into Grandstand & Paddock.

Alcohol limit

The racecourse allows up to four cans or one bottle of alcohol per person for personal consumption.

Centre Course Bar

The bar serves drinks and hot and cold snacks when open. During most of the National Hunt season it operates as shelter only.

Facilities

Children’s play area

The enclosure has an outdoor playground; extra activities may be added on busy days and during school holidays.

Betting

A betting facility is available within Course Enclosure.

On-course parking

A limited amount of free parking is inside the enclosure; it is first come, first served.

Accessible facilities

Level access is available to the bar and café and a limited number of accessible toilets are provided.

Dress code

There is no formal dress code at Catterick. The course recommends smart casual clothing and dressing for the weather. Course Enclosure is mostly grass and open air, so waterproof footwear and a warm layer are sensible, particularly during the jumps season.

Getting in

Enter through the Course Enclosure entrance; picnics and any permitted alcohol must come in through this gate. In 2026, adults pay £8 advance or £10 at the gate, and the advance rate ends 48 hours before the fixture. Limited free centre-course parking is first come, first served. The Centre Course Bar is shelter-only on most National Hunt fixtures, except 28 December and New Year’s Day.

Accessibility

Catterick provides accessible parking within the Course Enclosure, subject to availability, and says level access leads to the bar and café; only a limited number of accessible toilets are available here. Much of the area is grass. Ask the office about surfaces and the route on your meeting date. A free Personal Assistant ticket can be booked through the racecourse Digital Access Pass or an Access Card ID, or presented at the entrance; the course does not provide mobility aids.
