Public ticket
General Admission at Hamilton Park
One general admission ticket opens Hamilton Park’s outdoor public areas, the Parade Ring and several public bars. It is the ticket for the grandstand, trackside viewing, food outlets and the broad public racecourse; under-18s are free but still need a ticket.

Who it suits
- A first visit when you want to move between the public bar, parade viewing, food outlets and trackside areas on one ticket.
- Families: accompanied under-18s go free and the public site includes outdoor spaces, food and drink, and family entertainment at selected meetings.
- Racegoers who want a flexible day without booking a restaurant or private suite; you can add a food package or Trackside Terrace separately on eligible fixtures.

| Precon Racenight, 15 MayAdult advance saves £5 against the gate price | £27 | £32 | £23 | Free |
These are published 2026 event prices, not a 2027 quote. The racecourse offered discounted online advance admission until midnight the day before a fixture. Under-18s were free, but the FAQ says they still needed a ticket. Concession/student rates depend on the fixture page.
Where your ticket takes you
- All outdoor areas open to the public, including the Paddock Lawn, trackside viewing, grandstand and Parade Ring viewing access.
- The public indoor bars listed by the racecourse: Duke’s Bar, Panorama Bar, Red’s Wine Bar, Braveheart’s Bar and Racing TV Bar. Some may be closed to the public or reserved for private functions at certain meetings.
- Public catering such as The Hill, Overton Farm Grill, and event-dependent mobile food outlets.
- The public main car park and the main turnstiles entrance via the final gate (Gate 4); public parking is free.
Not included
- Private boxes, Duke’s Restaurant hospitality packages and restaurant marquees, which are sold separately and include VIP admission.
- A reserved Trackside Terrace bench, which requires a fixture-specific upgrade booking.
- Food, drinks and racecards; these may be purchased separately at the venue or added through an advertised package.
The view
The grandstand canopy gives some shelter while you watch, and two raised platforms at trackside look along the final straight towards the winning post. You can also view the Parade Ring and move across the outdoor site between races. The public ticket includes a number of named bars and food outlets, but the FAQ notes that some indoor rooms may be closed or privately booked on particular fixtures. There is no need to choose between a “paddock” and “club” public ticket: Hamilton Park sells one general admission ticket for these spaces.
Food and drink
Hamilton Park’s public ticket includes access to several bars and a mix of sit-down and takeaway food, although individual outlets may vary by meeting.
The Hill
On the grandstand ground floor by Braveheart’s Bar, this eatery serves Barrel & Stone pizza, fresh paninis, light bites and sweet treats. The racecourse says you can order and take a seat without booking.
Overton Farm Grill
A takeaway concession on the Paddock Lawn, open for every race meeting according to the food page. It serves locally produced food including burgers, steak sandwiches and chips.
Duke’s and Panorama Bars
Both overlook the track and are public bars on general admission dates, although busy fixtures may reserve or close them to general admission guests.
Red’s Wine Bar and Racing TV Bar
Red’s sits trackside near the winning post with an outdoor seating area. The Racing TV Bar is in the grandstand near the finish and has a large screen.
Equi’s Ice Cream and pop-up outlets
The food page lists an Equi’s ice-cream concession and says additional food outlets and pop-up bars appear on selected racedays.
Facilities
Viewing and shelter
Use the two raised trackside platforms or watch from the grandstand. Its canopy offers some protection in wet weather; umbrellas are allowed.
Betting
Braveheart’s Bar includes an on-site betting shop. The racecourse also has private betting facilities within hospitality areas.
Parking and transport
The main public car park is free and entered via the final gate. Overflow provisions may be used on busy days, including Hamilton College and Caird Street.
Cash and toilets
There is an ATM in The Hill and Braveheart’s on racedays, though the FAQ encourages cashless payment. Accessible toilets are in the grandstand ground floor and by the Parade Ring.
Dress code
Hamilton Park has no strict dress code. It recommends smart casual clothing, discourages football colours and advises dressing for outdoor weather. Comfort comes first: you will move between outdoor viewing, lawns and indoor bars, so a light waterproof layer is useful even when the day starts dry. General admission does not require the more formal style that some visitors choose for a premier fixture or Ladies’ Night.
Getting in
General admission visitors use the main turnstiles entrance via the final gate, marked Gate 4 on the racecourse access information. Gates and race times are fixture-specific; the event page gives the schedule when published. In 2026, discounted online admission was available until midnight the day before a fixture, with at-gate prices on raceday. E-tickets were emailed no later than two days before the event. Alcohol from outside is prohibited; picnic food is allowed but must be eaten outdoors, and glass is not permitted. Guide dogs are the only dogs allowed.
Accessibility
Hamilton Park provides Blue Badge spaces in the general public car park via Gate 4, subject to availability. Two raised race-viewing platforms overlook the straight and winning post. Accessible toilets are on the grandstand ground floor and near the Parade Ring; public catering is at ground level, while Duke’s and Panorama Bars can be reached by lift. The racecourse offers a “carer goes free” arrangement: a visitor who needs physical assistance and their registered carer are charged for one adult admission. Some ground elevations occur near the grandstand and entrances; call 01698 283806 to discuss a route or support need.
Children and families
Under-18s attend free when accompanied by an adult, but Hamilton Park says they must still have a ticket selected during booking. Family Raceday and some other fixture pages list free children’s activities, but the activity schedule varies by event. If a family buys a food-and-drink package, read its included ticket count: some 2026 offers bundled two adult and two child admissions, while the single-person food packages were for guests aged over 18.
Tips
- Buy online before midnight the day before the fixture to use the published advance rate; the 2026 event pages showed £27 in advance and £32 at the gate for an adult.
- Add a free under-18 ticket during checkout even though no admission charge applies.
- Check the event page for what is open to general admission: Duke’s, Panorama or Red’s may be booked privately at some meetings.
- Keep any picnic food outdoors, leave alcohol and glass at home, and use the bars for drinks.
- If you want a covered reserved bench rather than general viewing, see whether Trackside Terrace is offered for your particular fixture.
Upgrading
Selected food-and-drink packages add a meal or drink to general admission, and Trackside Terrace is offered as a separate upgrade on some racedays. Hospitality is sold separately and uses Duke’s entrance; it is not a general-admission upgrade that can be added at the gate.
