Trackside Terrace at Hamilton Park
Trackside Terrace reserves undercover picnic-bench seating beside the course for a small group. Hamilton Park sells it as a fixture-specific ticket upgrade; whether general admission is included and the price depend on the event.

Who it suits
- Groups of four to six who want to sit together at a reserved, undercover bench rather than find open seating on arrival.
- Visitors who want a trackside view and plan to bring a picnic when that fixture’s offer allows it.
- Groups celebrating a summer racenight; the 2026 Ladies’ Night option bundled general admission for up to six people.
Ticket prices

These were event-specific 2026 offers, not a single season-wide price. The 15 May upgrade was £25 per person with general admission sold separately; the Lanark Silver Bell offer was £58 per person including general admission; the Ladies’ Night terrace upgrade was £400 per bench for up to six and included general admission.
Where your ticket takes you
- A reserved picnic-bench seat under cover beside the track, positioned for race viewing.
- The public outdoor course areas and public bars when paired with a general admission ticket or when admission is included in the event package.
- Picnic seating and the option to bring your own food where the event-specific Terrace offer allows it.
- The general public car park and main turnstiles when using a separate general admission ticket; event pages describe admission as included for some Terrace products.
Not included
- A universal season-long price or package: prices and what is bundled vary by fixture.
- At the 15 May 2026 offer, general admission was explicitly sold separately.
- Food and drink service at the bench; Terrace is reserved seating, not a hospitality dining package.
The view
The Terrace gives a group a set undercover picnic bench close to the track, rather than an unreserved spot at the grandstand or on the public lawn. The fixture pages describe its view as trackside, and the 2026 offers mention reserved bench seating. A bench accommodated up to six people, with the May and Lanark Silver Bell offers requiring at least four. It is useful to decide whether a bench is the right spend for your group: open general-admission areas and raised viewing platforms remain available to visitors with the corresponding admission ticket.
Food and drink
Terrace is a reserved seating product, not a restaurant package; some event offers let you bring your own picnic.
Your picnic
The 15 May Precon Racenight and Ladies’ Night pages say guests may bring their own picnic to the reserved terrace. Confirm that the event’s own offer includes this before choosing what to bring.
The Hill
A public grandstand eatery serving pizza, paninis, light bites and sweet treats. It is available to general-admission visitors, though indoor areas may sometimes be booked privately.
Overton Farm Grill
The takeaway on Paddock Lawn sells locally produced burgers and other hot food and is listed by Hamilton Park as operating at every meeting.
Public bars
Duke’s, Panorama, Red’s, Braveheart’s and Racing TV bars are listed as public ticket-holder options, but some indoor outlets can be closed to the public at certain meetings.
Facilities
Reserved bench
The Terrace is sold as undercover picnic-bench seating, with a maximum of six people per bench in the published 2026 offers. A minimum group of four applied to the May and Lanark Silver Bell offers.
Admission terms
The 15 May offer required separate general admission, while the Lanark Silver Bell and Ladies’ Night listings included admission. Read the description for the fixture you select; do not assume the same ticket bundle every time.
Nearby viewing and bars
The Terrace is trackside; general admission areas also include raised platforms overlooking the straight and named public bars, subject to the event’s opening plan.
Food rules
Where the event permits a picnic, bring food only. Hamilton Park does not permit outside alcohol or glass anywhere at the racecourse.
Dress code
Hamilton Park has no strict dress code and recommends smart casual, with comfort and weather protection as the priority. Football colours are discouraged. Trackside Terrace is outdoors even though its benches are undercover, so bring a warm or waterproof layer for an evening meeting. For Ladies’ Night, many racegoers dress up, but the general course advice remains that comfort is welcome.
Getting in
The Terrace is an upgrade rather than a universal public enclosure ticket. Use the entrance associated with the fixture’s admission product: for the 15 May 2026 offer, buy general admission separately and enter via the public main turnstiles; the Lanark Silver Bell and Ladies’ Night listings bundled admission. General admission advance tickets in 2026 were available until midnight the day before; event-specific Terrace booking deadlines can be earlier. Your e-ticket is sent by email no later than two days before the fixture. Outside alcohol and glass are prohibited.
Accessibility
Hamilton Park has two raised trackside race-viewing platforms, but the public description of the Trackside Terrace does not state its precise step-free route, seating transfer arrangements or whether a companion place is available at the bench itself. The venue’s accessible areas include ground-level public catering, accessible toilets at the grandstand and Parade Ring, and Blue Badge spaces in the public car park via Gate 4, subject to availability. Its “carer goes free” scheme charges one adult admission for a visitor who needs physical assistance and their registered carer. Call 01698 283806 before booking to ask about a suitable bench and route.
Children and families
Accompanied under-18s are free at Hamilton Park but still need a ticket. Whether their ticket is bundled with Trackside Terrace depends on the specific offer. The Ladies’ Night bench ticket included general admission for up to six people, while the May 15 offer required separate admission tickets. Check the headcount and child-ticket requirements on the fixture page before ordering; do not count the Terrace bench alone as racecourse admission unless that offer explicitly includes it.
Tips
- Check whether admission is bundled: it was separate on 15 May 2026 but included with the Lanark Silver Bell and Ladies’ Night options.
- The May and Lanark Silver Bell benches required at least four people and allowed up to six; larger groups could book more than one bench.
- At Ladies’ Night, the 2026 bench price was a fixed £400 for up to six people, whether the group filled every place or not.
- Bring a picnic only when the event page says the Terrace offer allows it; outside alcohol and glass remain banned.
- Book event-specific upgrades by their stated deadline. The Lanark Silver Bell page gave a noon deadline on the preceding Friday.
Upgrading
Trackside Terrace is itself an upgrade attached to an event ticket. Some fixture offers require separate general admission; other offers include it. The event pages also advertise meal-and-drink packages, but these are separate products from the bench unless explicitly bundled.
