Where your ticket takes you

Not included

The view

The Paddock Enclosure takes the central position beside the grandstand and Winning Post. The grandstand gives you a covered place to follow the finish, and the Parade Ring is close enough to see the horses before and after each race. You can also move into the Course Enclosure for its more open grassy areas, picnic benches and family play area. Paddock gives you more vantage points and amenities, while the Course is a looser, picnic-style option. A seat in the Paddock Grandstand is not included in admission: the FAQ lists a £3 seat badge sold on the day at the General Office opposite the Parade Ring.

Food and drink

The Paddock has the largest choice of casual food and drink, with Course facilities also included.

Paddock Carvery

A hot-food counter with carvery meals, sandwiches, cakes and drinks. The FAQ says it operates first come, first served and tables must be vacated after eating.

Paddock Eaterie

Casual food includes roast-meat baguettes, pizza slices, pies, roast-potato meals, sandwiches and cakes.

Silks Lounge

An informal lounge with tea, coffee, wines, champagne, sandwiches and cakes; live racing is shown on screens.

Betting Hall Bar

A full bar inside the Betting Hall, convenient for placing bets; the FAQ also lists bars by the Carvery on the first floor.

Facilities

Grandstand seats

A £3 seat badge is available from the General Office opposite the Parade Ring on the day; outdoor benches are also provided.

Betting

A full complement of bookmakers and Britbet counters operate in the Paddock, along with a William Hill betting shop.

Lift access

A lift serves the first-floor bar area and Paddock Betting Hall; a lift also serves the Teign Suite.

Access to Course

Paddock admission includes the Course Enclosure’s play space, picnic area, Alfresco outlet and bar.

Dress code

Newton Abbot describes its enclosure dress as smart casual; jeans and shorts are permitted in the Paddock. Vest tops and going without a top are not permitted. The stricter restaurant rules apply only to the booked Paddock Restaurant and Winning Post Restaurant, not the casual Paddock Eaterie: sports attire and ripped denim are barred in the booked restaurants. Comfortable footwear is useful for walking between the grandstand, Parade Ring and Course Enclosure.

Getting in

Use the public entrance reached from Greenhill Way at the traffic lights by Winners Gym, next to the Volvo garage; general parking is in the centre of the racecourse. The fixture page gives the exact gate time: for example, gates opened at 11:05am on 17 October 2026 and 11:51am on 28 October. Online booking closes at 11:59pm on the night before the meeting; the ticket FAQ says 2026 on-the-day tickets are sold at the gate. Show a digital or printed ticket ready to be scanned. The current FAQs do not publish a bag-size rule.

Accessibility

The accessibility statement places a viewing stand at the front of the Paddock Grandstand. Wheelchair-accessible entrances are in all betting halls, with lifts in the Paddock Betting Hall and Teign Suite. Accessible toilets are at the Paddock entrance, Terrace Rooms and top floor of the Teign Suite. Disabled parking is close to the public entrance; the FAQ says the disabled guest buys a ticket and one carer is admitted free on the day when proof of disability is shown. Contact the racecourse if you need further details about a particular seat or room.
