Where your ticket takes you

Not included

The view

This is a ticket bundle for the regular Grandstand & Paddock enclosure, not a separate physical enclosure. It includes the public stands, Parade Ring and public bars, eateries and betting outlets. General admission seating is informal and unreserved, so you can move around the site. Visit the Parade Ring before a race and choose a public outdoor position for the action; the indoor bars have screens when you want shelter.

Food and drink

The bundle adds a pie, drink and programme to admission; further purchases are separate.

Traditional pie

One pie is included, though the 18 October event page does not specify the filling.

Drink

The ticket includes one pint of Carlsberg or a soft drink.

Other public outlets

You can use the public Grandstand bars and eateries; additional orders are paid separately.

Facilities

Programme

A raceday programme is included to follow runners and race information.

Unreserved seating

General admission seating is informal, so arrive early if you want a particular stand area.

Betting outlets

The admission includes public betting facilities; betting is optional.

Mobile tickets

Tickets arrive by email and can be scanned from a phone or printed.

Dress code

Sedgefield describes Grandstand & Paddock as smart casual. It discourages jogging bottoms, sports shorts and football or rugby shirts; smart jeans are acceptable. Most of the day is outdoors, so wear warm layers and practical shoes for damp grass and walking between viewing areas. Formal clothes are not required.

Getting in

The official 18 October 2026 page listed A Day at the Races at £25 and showed it as sold out when checked on 3 October. No gate price for the bundle was published. Use the emailed ticket at the main admissions entrance; gate tickets are card-only and subject to capacity. Gates open two hours before the first race.

Accessibility

Tarmac routes serve the front and rear of most stands, and a path links the Parade Ring with the Winners Enclosure. Sedgefield has accessible toilets, two lifts and five dedicated wheelchair spaces near admissions. A free personal assistant ticket can be arranged by email at least 24 hours ahead. External covered Grandstand viewing is reached via terraced steps; ask about other viewing choices if needed.

Children and families

Children aged 17 and under go free with an adult at most fixtures, though exclusions may apply. The event page does not explain whether a free child ticket also includes the bundle’s pie, drink or programme. Ask Sedgefield about child package inclusions; a free general admission ticket is issued on the day.
