Picnics welcome
Centre Course Enclosure at Worcester
The Centre Course is a separately ticketed area inside the track, open on selected fixtures such as Ladies Day and Family Fun Day. It is Worcester’s relaxed picnic option, with a bar, snacks, betting and free car parking, but no access to the main grandstand, Parade Ring or winner’s enclosure.

- Families who want to bring their own food and take advantage of the open-air picnic space on the dates it is operating.
- Groups who prefer a relaxed area and do not need to visit the main grandstand or Parade Ring.
- Racegoers driving to one of the fixtures where the Centre Course is open; parking in the Centre Course car park is free.

Where your ticket takes you
- The Centre Course enclosure, including its public bar, food outlets and betting outlets when the area is open.
- The infield picnic area. Alcohol-free food can be brought in; outside drinks and alcohol are not permitted.
- The Centre Course car park is free. The racecourse provides postcode WR1 3EH for the car park entrance.
- A folding chair may be brought in, but gazebos and barbecues are not allowed.
Not included
- The County grandstand and its main public facilities.
- The Parade Ring and winner’s enclosure; the racecourse’s ticket information says these are not accessible from Centre Course admission.
- The Centre Course admission ticket is only sold for selected fixtures, and the area may be closed on other race days.
The view
You watch from the open-air infield rather than the covered County grandstand. The area gives you a relaxed base in the centre of the track, but Worcester does not advertise a designated grandstand or trackside viewing platform here. If seeing the Parade Ring, winner’s enclosure or the close finish from covered seats is important to you, choose County instead. The Centre Course is typically used for Ladies Day and Family Fun Day, so the exact entertainment and food stalls can change with the fixture.
Food and drink
The Centre Course is the only enclosure where Worcester permits visitors to bring an alcohol-free picnic.
Picnic area
Bring your own food for the infield, but leave alcohol and drinks at home: Worcester’s general rule does not allow drinks to be brought on site.
Centre Course bar
The racecourse describes a bar serving beers, wines and spirits, alongside pies and snacks. Outside alcohol is prohibited.
Fixture food stalls
Family Fun Day pages describe bars and food outlets; the exact traders and children’s entertainment vary by event.
Facilities
Free parking
Worcester provides free car parking in the Centre Course, with the car park entrance postcode WR1 3EH. The separate Picnic Car Park is only open on selected days and sits farther from the main facilities.
Betting
The official FAQ lists betting shops in the Centre Course and BritBet outlets around the site. Bars and catering are cashless, and there are no cash machines on site.
Open-air seating
Folding chairs are permitted, subject to the safety officer’s discretion. Gazebos and barbecues are not allowed.
Dress code
The general Worcester dress code is relaxed, with no formalwear requirement. The Centre Course is mostly grass and may have uneven concrete; wear shoes with a sole that works outdoors, and bring a waterproof layer if rain is forecast. Feature days such as Ladies Day encourage occasion wear, but comfort matters if you are spending time on the infield.
Getting in
Only use Centre Course admission on a fixture when the area is open. Your ticket gives the entry gate; Worcester tells visitors to use the main gate or Centre Course entrance according to ticket type. For Ladies Day in 2025, Centre Course ticket holders were directed to Moors Road, while County used Grand Stand Road; use the gate shown for your own event. Gates generally open around two hours before the first race. The published 2026 Family Fun Day admission was £14 early bird for an adult and £9 each for groups of 10 or more; the exact gate price was not stated.
Accessibility
The racecourse warns that Centre Course has no accessible facilities and is not recommended for visitors with limited mobility or wheelchair users. Its surface is mainly grass and uneven concrete. The Picnic Car Park is at the far end of the area, some distance from toilets, betting and food outlets, and is only open on selected dates. Worcester directs guests who need an accessible viewing ramp to County, where the designated ramp is beside the home-straight rails. A personal assistant can be admitted free with an eligible paying guest, arranged with the racecourse at least 24 hours ahead.
Children and families
Children aged 17 and under can enter free with a paying adult. The racecourse says a child ticket is issued on the day and is not required in advance. Family Fun Day advertises children’s activities such as inflatables, face painting and live entertainment, though the programme changes by meeting. Keep children with your group around the open infield and take note of the separated access to County facilities.
Tips
- Check that your fixture is a Centre Course day before choosing this ticket: the area is only open on selected meetings, including Ladies Day and Family Fun Day.
- Bring picnic food but no drinks or alcohol; Worcester bans outside alcohol across the racecourse and allows picnics only in Centre Course.
- Bring a folding chair if useful, but do not bring a gazebo or barbecue. Admission with a chair can be refused by the safety officer.
- If you are driving, use the Centre Course car park postcode WR1 3EH and allow time for city-centre traffic.
