County Enclosure at Worcester
County is Worcester’s main public enclosure, open for every meeting. A ticket puts you by the finishing line and gives access to the covered grandstand, Parade Ring, winner’s enclosure, public bars, food outlets and betting points.

- First-time visitors who want the principal public enclosure, a covered place to watch and access to the Parade Ring.
- Racegoers who want to see the finish from a position beside the winning post and move between viewing, food and betting areas.

Where your ticket takes you
- The County public areas, including the main grandstand, street food lawn, bars, catering concessions and betting outlets.
- The Parade Ring and winner’s enclosure, to watch horses before and after their races.
- The covered, tiered grandstand overlooking the final furlong and winning post.
- On fixtures when Centre Course is also open, your ticket is specifically for County; the Centre Course uses a separate admission ticket.
Not included
- A reserved seat. Seating in the standard enclosure is limited, unreserved and mostly outside the main buildings.
- A meal in the Severn Restaurant, private box or marquee; these are separately booked hospitality packages.
- Admission to the separately ticketed Centre Course on the fixtures when that area is open.
The view
The covered County grandstand faces the final furlong and winning post. It is a useful base if you want to watch several races from the same place, while the designated wheelchair ramp beside the home-straight rails gives eligible County guests a closer trackside viewing point. Between races, the Parade Ring and winner’s enclosure are within the public area, so you can see the runners before they head out and return after the finish.
Food and drink
County has public bars and catering concessions, including the racecourse’s street-food lawn.
Street-food lawn
A casual food area described by the racecourse as part of the County public enclosure; traders vary by fixture.
County public bars
Bars serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The site is cashless for catering and bars, so use a card or contactless payment.
Catering concessions
Food outlets around the County area offer snacks and meals. The event pages do not promise the same menu or named traders at every meeting.
Facilities
Covered grandstand
Tiered and covered, facing the final furlong and finish. Seating is limited and unreserved, so it is not guaranteed with a general ticket.
Betting
There are betting outlets in the County area; the wider venue also has independent bookmakers and BritBet windows. Bookmakers may take cash even though bars and catering are cashless.
Accessible toilets and lift
Accessible toilets are on the main grandstand’s ground floor. A lift connects the grandstand floors, including hospitality suites.
Dress code
Worcester has a relaxed dress code. The racecourse suggests smart jeans or tailored shorts with a collared shirt for men, but there is no requirement for formalwear. Sporting team shirts and offensive fancy dress are not permitted. Racing is outdoors from spring to autumn, so dress for the forecast and wear comfortable shoes for walking between the grandstand, lawn and Parade Ring.
Getting in
County guests use the main gate on Grand Stand Road, as shown for County admission. Have the e-ticket ready on your phone or bring a printed copy. Gates generally open about two hours before the first race; for the October 2026 dates checked, opening times were 11:35am on 7 October, 12:07pm on 12 October and 11:40am on 21 October. Tickets can be purchased at the gate if still available, but the pages reviewed did not publish the exact on-the-day price. Bags are not subject to a published size limit on the pages checked.
Accessibility
Worcester recommends County for visitors with mobility or access needs. The main grandstand lower entrance is wheelchair accessible, the grandstand bar is on the ground floor, accessible toilets are on that floor, and a lift serves the upper floors. A trackside wheelchair viewing ramp beside the home-straight rails is reserved for County guests who need it and is staffed by security. One personal assistant may be admitted free with an eligible paying guest; email the racecourse at least 24 hours before the meeting to arrange the tickets.
Children and families
Children aged 17 and under enter free when accompanied by a paying adult. The 2026 fixture pages say an advance child ticket is not required and a free ticket is issued at the entrance. Under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. General admission does not include a reserved seat, so arrive early if you need to find a place together.
Tips
- For a view of the finish, take a place in the covered grandstand before the first race; its seating is limited and unreserved.
- Head to the Parade Ring before a race to compare the runners up close, then return to the rails or grandstand for the start and finish.
- Use the October fixture page for the exact gate and race times; the three dates have different opening times.
- Bring a payment card for bars and food. Bookmakers and BritBet accept cash for bets, but Worcester says there are no cash machines on site.
Upgrading
Worcester says admission tickets can be upgraded on the day if space remains; ask at the racecourse office. Hospitality packages can also be booked before the meeting.
