Where your ticket takes you

Not included

The view

The two public stands have terraced viewing over the track, while the front lawns give an open-air view of the straight. For a close look at the runners, use the Parade Ring before each race. Much of the enclosure is outdoors, so the lawns are pleasant on a fine day but exposed in wind or rain.

Food and drink

Food and drink concessions are spread around the public stands; the exact mobile stalls can change by fixture. You can also bring a picnic on selected racedays, but outside alcohol and barbecues are not allowed.

Final Furlong Concession

The racecourse map places this food concession in the Lord Nelson Grandstand area. The event menu is not published as a fixed year-round list, so the dishes vary by meeting.

Tea Room

A named tea room and baby-change point are marked on the official map. It is a useful stop for a hot drink or a break from the lawns; the racecourse does not publish a permanent menu.

Public catering stalls and bars

The ticket guide describes food outlets, bars and betting kiosks throughout the enclosure. The 2026 value offer advertised £5 pints on racedays, but individual menus and brands vary.

Facilities

Betting

The public betting ring is trackside and britbet facilities are in the Grandstand. The venue map also marks betting points by the Parade Ring.

Family facilities

Family lawns and a children’s adventure playground are inside the enclosure. The official map also marks a dedicated picnic area.

Seating and cover

There are two stands with terraced viewing, but most other seating is limited and mainly outdoors unless your ticket includes a reserved seat.

Payments

The current FAQ says bookmakers operate around the course; its published payment details distinguish bookmakers from food and bar payments. A cash machine is shown on the course map.

Dress code

Grandstand & Paddock is the relaxed option. The racecourse says casual clothing is acceptable but discourages beachwear, sportswear and ripped jeans; keep a layer or waterproof close because much of the viewing is outside. Feature days attract racegoers who dress up, but this is optional.

Getting in

Use the Grandstand & Paddock gates printed on your ticket; the official map marks gates 1–3 and 7–10 for this enclosure and a separate advance-ticket gate. The 5 October 2026 event listing gave an 11:45am opening time, but opening varies by fixture. Standard tickets can be bought online or on the gate. The ticket and FAQ pages checked do not give a bag-size rule.

Accessibility

The main Grandstand has level access from either end to the front lawns and a tarmac route between the Parade Ring, Winners’ Enclosure and lawns. Covered viewing in the stands is reached by terraced steps; two accessible platforms overlook the track, one with a tarmac approach and one reached over grass. Accessible toilets are available. Email info@greatyarmouth-racecourse.co.uk at least 24 hours ahead to arrange a free personal-assistant badge; bring supporting evidence to collect it. The accessible car park is limited, on uneven grass, and near the front turnstiles.

Children and families

Children aged 17 and under go free when accompanied by an adult at standard fixtures; the 20 October 2026 event listing says no advance child ticket is needed and a free ticket is issued at the entrance. Exclusions may apply on selected events. The racecourse lists the playground and family lawns in this enclosure.
