The view
The Main Enclosure has a covered grandstand and outdoor viewing opposite the finishing line. Between races, visitors can go to the Parade Ring to see the runners and saddling area, then follow the horses towards the track or Winners Enclosure. The course also highlights trackside viewing of the open ditch. On 6 October 2026 gates opened at 12.30pm, the first race was at 1.56pm and the last was at 4.48pm; those times apply to that meeting only.
Food and drink
The main public enclosure has several bars and food outlets; the course names its principal bars but does not list a full fixture-by-fixture food-stall menu.
Favourites Bar
The enclosure page highlights views of the Winners Enclosure from this contemporary bar.
Sharps Bar
The racecourse FAQ describes Sharps Bar as overlooking the Parade Ring.
Bevans Bar
The public baby-changing facilities are on the first floor of the Goodliff Stand between the Peterborough Chase Restaurant and Bevans Bar.
Food outlets
Huntingdon says there are various food outlets and eateries around the site, with details shown in the raceday programme or available from staff.
Facilities
Betting
The FAQ says the Tote and on-course bookmakers are present. Betting is optional; the venue is cashless apart from bookmakers, which still accept cash.
Grandstand and cover
A covered grandstand gives shelter and views opposite the finish, with open-air viewing around the course.
Toilets and baby change
Accessible toilets are available; ask staff for their locations. Public baby-changing facilities are on the first floor of the Goodliff Stand.
Wi-Fi and racecards
The enclosure page lists Wi-Fi. Printed racecards are sold at the Tote or turnstiles, and digital racecards are available in the Huntingdon Racecourse app.
Dress code
There is no formal dress code at Huntingdon. The racecourse suggests dressing to feel comfortable and for the weather; hospitality and restaurant guests are asked to wear smart casual clothes and avoid ripped denim or trainers. Most public viewing is outdoors, so shoes with grip and a waterproof layer are useful.
Getting in
Use a main racecourse entrance on Thrapston Road; Huntingdon’s directions point drivers to the course from the A141/A14. Tickets are emailed for print-at-home or phone entry, or can be put in The Jockey Club app; hospitality tickets are posted. The FAQ does not give a bag-size allowance. Gates and race times vary: for the Season Opener on 6 October 2026 they were 12.30pm, 1.56pm and 4.48pm respectively.
Accessibility
Blue Badge spaces are set aside near the racecourse entrances. Main entrances have access points for wheelchair users and semi-ambulant visitors; the course lists a raised viewing area beside the track, accessible toilets, lifts to the main grandstands and a portable hearing loop. One complimentary personal-assistant ticket can be applied for with a valid admission ticket; contact huntingdon@thejockeyclub.co.uk. Assistance dogs are welcome.
Children and families
Accompanied under-18s are free at most fixtures, and the FAQ says a free child ticket can usually be added when buying an adult ticket. Availability can be limited on high-demand days, and some fixtures require paid child admission. Under-18s need a responsible adult aged 21 or over, or a parent; no adult may be responsible for more than three under-18s. Those aged 15 and under must stay with that adult throughout the visit.
Tips
- Save the ticket email or import the print-at-home ticket into the racecourse app before travelling; the FAQ says emailed delivery can be delayed while a booking is processed.
- Bring cash only if you plan to use the on-course bookmakers; the rest of the venue operates cashlessly and there are no cash machines.
- Walk through the Parade Ring between races, then choose a covered grandstand spot or an outdoor trackside view for the next start.
- Check the fixture timetable before setting off: the published Season Opener gate and race times are not universal.
Upgrading
For a seated meal and private viewing balcony, book a Classic or Premier Peterborough Chase Restaurant package. Private boxes are also offered as hospitality bookings.
