Grandstand Enclosure at Perth
The Grandstand is Perth’s larger public enclosure and the central base for a first visit. It combines tiered standing views, the Parade Ring and Winner’s Ring with the main bars, cafes, takeaways, betting facilities and the after-racing atmosphere in The Barn on selected days.

Who it suits
- First-time visitors who want to see horses in the Parade Ring before racing and in the Winner’s Ring afterwards.
- Racegoers who want public food, bars, betting and several places to watch from with one admission ticket.
- Visitors who prefer hard-standing walkways and access to indoor bars and stands during changeable weather.
Ticket prices
| Ticket | Published advance price |
|---|---|
| Grandstand TicketGeneral admission, from per person | From £13 |
Perth advertised Grandstand admission from £13 per person for the 2026 Murrayshall Country Estate fixture. Prices varied by fixture and the published figure is an advance starting price; the course did not publish the on-the-day price. The 2027 rate was not yet listed when checked. A £1 handling fee applies per fixture booking.
Where your ticket takes you
- Grandstand admission gives access to public areas of the larger enclosure and the public viewing areas around the course.
- You can visit the Parade Ring to see the runners before each race and the Winner’s Ring for presentations after races.
- The enclosure contains Cafe 1613, public bars, takeaways, independent bookmakers and Tote betting.
- The Barn, The Horsewalk Bar, the Nelson Stand and the Dewhurst Stand are on the Grandstand map; live music in The Barn is advertised on selected racedays.
Not included
- The Picnic Enclosure is a separate ticket and is not included with a Grandstand ticket.
- Premium marquee tickets, restaurant packages, private boxes, Grazing on the Green and shuttle tickets are separately booked products.
- Food and drink cannot normally be brought into the Grandstand; alcohol from outside and glass containers are not allowed.
The view
Perth describes Grandstand admission as access to public areas and several vantage points, including close-up views of horses racing past the finish. Use the tiered standing areas for a fuller view over the course, then go to the Parade Ring before a race and to the Winner’s Ring when the placed horses return. The Horsewalk Bar sits on the head-on lawn, while the Last Ditch Bar is beyond the Nelson Stand by the final straight. The Grandstand is the busier enclosure and has both outdoor grass and harder-surfaced routes.
Food and drink
Most public raceday food and drink is in the Grandstand Enclosure.
Cafe 1613
The main cafe in the Grandstand, with hot and cold drinks and food such as homemade pies. The first-aid room is opposite it.
Paddock & Chips
A quick takeaway choice listed by Perth, with freshly cooked fish suppers and familiar racecourse snacks.
The Barn
A lively bar near the main entrance. The racecourse says live music keeps it open after racing on selected racedays; it is a Grandstand venue rather than a separate enclosure ticket.
Horsewalk and Last Ditch Bars
The Horsewalk Bar is on the head-on lawn; the Last Ditch Bar sits beyond the Nelson Stand with a view of the final straight.
Facilities
Rings and betting
You can watch runners in the Parade Ring and presentations in the Winner’s Ring. Independent bookmakers, Tote facilities and accessible-level betting kiosks are listed for the enclosure.
Toilets and first aid
Toilets are in several Grandstand locations, including opposite Cafe 1613, the Betting Hall and Last Ditch Bar. Three accessible toilets are listed; the Press Room toilet is key controlled. First aid is opposite Cafe 1613.
Payment
Perth prefers card and contactless payment at its bars and Cafe 1613; cash is accepted. The ATM is beside The Barn at the main entrance.
Seating
The course says there is seating in different styles around the venue, indoors and outdoors. Grandstand visitors are discouraged from bringing their own chairs.
Dress code
There is no formal dress code in the public enclosures. Perth discourages football colours and asks visitors to dress for the weather because the racecourse is an outdoor event. Smart casual is common in the Grandstand and hospitality areas. Comfortable shoes and a waterproof layer are useful even if you plan to spend time inside the stands.
Getting in
Use the Grandstand/Main Entrance and show the QR code for each visitor; the racecourse scans tickets at enclosure gates. Perth says general tickets may be bought at Gate B until the third race if there is space, but sold-out fixtures have no gate sales. The 2026 Murrayshall fixture opened at 12:30, with first race at 14:00 and last at 17:25; those are that meeting’s times, not a standing timetable. Glass is prohibited, and food/drink rules are stricter here than in Picnic.
Accessibility
Most of the Grandstand is tarmac, with grass trackside. Perth has raised wheelchair viewing platforms by the track and Parade Ring, wheelchair access in the Galileo Restaurant, Cafe 1613 and bars, and lifts where needed. Three accessible toilets are listed, plus accessible-level Tote and William Hill kiosks. Blue Badge parking is on hard standing close to the entrance. The raceday shuttle can take wheelchairs; tell the operator at the stop. Contact 01738 551597 or info@perth-races.co.uk for accessible ticket and Essential Companion arrangements; the qualifying companion enters free with the paying guest.
Children and families
Perth’s Family Raceday in 2026 advertised free entry for under-18s, but that was a fixture-specific offer rather than a published all-raceday child tariff. The ticket information asks that each person has an individual ticket/QR code. Check the event’s own ticket options for its age offer; the racecourse did not publish a single 2027 children’s price in the pages checked. Family entertainment varies by meeting, and The Picnic Enclosure is the venue’s dedicated family area.
Tips
- Arrive with time to visit the Parade Ring before your first race; it is one of the features that distinguishes the Grandstand ticket.
- Choose a viewing spot early if you want the tiered stands or a trackside place for a feature race.
- Bring a bank card for cafes and bars, and cash if you plan to use bookmakers that do not accept cards.
- The Barn’s after-racing music is fixture-specific. The main ticket may include it when advertised, but it is not a separate enclosure.
Upgrading
Perth sells Premium Tickets and restaurant or private-box hospitality for selected fixtures. These are separately ticketed; check the inclusions on the specific event package before booking.
