The view

The Course Enclosure is set apart from the main Grandstand viewing and looks towards the third-last fence from its own grandstand. Wincanton’s official pages differ slightly over which late fence the stand faces, so the safest description is the published enclosure-page reference to the third-last. It has a bar and food outlet, and the picnic rule makes it the designated choice for visitors who want to bring their own food. It does not provide Parade Ring viewing.

Food and drink

Food and drink arrangements depend on the ticket and the fixture; these are the named facilities published by Wincanton.

Course bar

A bar is listed in the Course Enclosure.

Food outlet

There is also a food outlet; the operator does not publish a permanent menu on the enclosure page.

Picnic

You may bring a picnic in this enclosure only. Alcohol is not allowed to be brought on course.

Parking and gate

For Boxing Day Course tickets and course parking, the fixture page directs visitors to the north entrance at gate E. Course car parking costs £10 per car when bought at the gate.

Dress code

Relaxed; practical outdoor layers Wincanton’s published guidance is to dress to feel your best. There is no requirement for formal racewear; avoid team kits and offensive fancy dress. Most of the day is outdoors, so comfortable shoes, a warm layer and a waterproof are useful in Somerset weather.

Getting in

Boxing Day ticket holders use north site gate E Advance tickets are emailed and can be shown on a phone or printed. Walk-up tickets are offered for fixtures that have not sold out unless that fixture says otherwise; on-the-day payment is card only. Wincanton does not publish a single all-season gate opening time or a general bag-size rule on its visitor pages, so this guide gives the confirmed event-specific details rather than guessing.

Accessibility

Wincanton lists accessible facilities across its public enclosures, including accessible toilets, accessible catering and marked viewing areas. The Premier has an elevated viewing platform overlooking the winning post and reserved wheelchair space in the Hatherleigh viewing area; the Grandstand has a raised outdoor viewing area. Accessible parking is available close to the entrance gates, though spaces are limited on Boxing Day. One complimentary personal assistant ticket is available where needed; call 01963 435840 on the same day as buying the racegoer’s ticket to guarantee availability. Hospitality restaurants and boxes have lift access. Contact Wincanton before booking if you need a particular space or route.
