Boxing Day dining
Paddock Pavilion at Wincanton
The Paddock Pavilion is a separately sold restaurant beside the Parade Ring and opens for Wincanton’s Boxing Day fixture only. It combines a view of the horses in the parade with a traditional carvery, dessert station and a table for the day.

Where your ticket takes you
- A reserved table for the day in the Paddock Pavilion.
- A view of the Parade Ring from the dining venue.
- Traditional carvery, dessert station and artisan cheese board selection.
- Raceday admission is included in the hospitality ticket.
Not included
- The package is only available for the Boxing Day fixture, not other weekend racedays.
- A public enclosure ticket alone does not include the Pavilion meal or reserved table.
- The official package page does not list a separate child price or dietary menu.
The view
The Pavilion is presented as a restaurant with a view of the Parade Ring, letting you watch the horses before a race from a covered dining setting. Wincanton lists traditional carvery, a dessert station, artisan cheese and tea or coffee after the meal. Admission is included. The official page says parties smaller than eight will be seated at shared tables, so this is not necessarily a private-table option for couples or small groups.

Access
Wincanton states hospitality restaurants have lift access; ask about the Pavilion route if you need step-free access.
Dress code
Smart casual practical choice Wincanton’s published guidance is to dress to feel your best. There is no requirement for formal racewear; avoid team kits and offensive fancy dress. Most of the day is outdoors, so comfortable shoes, a warm layer and a waterproof are useful in Somerset weather.
Getting in
Boxing Day hospitality entrance; gates 10:30 in 2026 Advance tickets are emailed and can be shown on a phone or printed. Walk-up tickets are offered for fixtures that have not sold out unless that fixture says otherwise; on-the-day payment is card only. Wincanton does not publish a single all-season gate opening time or a general bag-size rule on its visitor pages, so this guide gives the confirmed event-specific details rather than guessing.
Accessibility
Wincanton lists accessible facilities across its public enclosures, including accessible toilets, accessible catering and marked viewing areas. The Premier has an elevated viewing platform overlooking the winning post and reserved wheelchair space in the Hatherleigh viewing area; the Grandstand has a raised outdoor viewing area. Accessible parking is available close to the entrance gates, though spaces are limited on Boxing Day. One complimentary personal assistant ticket is available where needed; call 01963 435840 on the same day as buying the racegoer’s ticket to guarantee availability. Hospitality restaurants and boxes have lift access. Contact Wincanton before booking if you need a particular space or route.
Children and families
Children are welcome at most Wincanton fixtures, usually free with an adult ticket, but high-demand racedays can require a paid child ticket. The Pavilion page does not give a separate child price; the package includes a meal, so request the correct child booking from the hospitality team. Under-18s must arrive with a responsible adult aged 21 or over, or their parent, with no more than three under-18s per adult.
Tips
- This restaurant is Boxing Day only; it is not the standard weekend Course Enclosure.
- Book all guests together: groups under eight may share a table.
- Arrive early on 26 December; gates opened at 10:30 in the 2026 fixture information.
- Ask about dietary needs in advance and request a child price before booking.
