Where your ticket takes you

Not included

The view

Premier has the widest public choice: watch from the main stand, visit the Parade Ring between races, or move to a trackside position nearer the winning post. The spectator guide lists views opposite the finish and of the final fence/furlong for both Premier and Grandstand. The course is an open-air venue, and the covered stand can fill, so treat it as a useful shelter rather than a reserved seat.

Food and drink

Food and drink arrangements depend on the ticket and the fixture; these are the named facilities published by Wincanton.

Public bars

Two Premier public bars each have a food service area. The operator does not publish a permanent menu on the enclosure page.

Restaurants

Wincanton sells separate dining packages, including Chasers and the Winning Post Suite; these are not included in a Premier ticket.

Food brought in

Food and drink are not allowed into the main enclosure and stands, apart from baby/toddler food and food required for a disclosed medical need.

Facilities

Parade Ring

Premier ticket holders can view horses before each race and see the winner return.

Betting

The Tote and on-course bookmakers operate. There are no cash machines; the Tote can provide cash back when placing a bet.

Wi-Fi and toilets

Wincanton lists free Wi-Fi and accessible toilets across the public areas.

Dress code

Relaxed; no formal code Wincanton’s published guidance is to dress to feel your best. There is no requirement for formal racewear; avoid team kits and offensive fancy dress. Most of the day is outdoors, so comfortable shoes, a warm layer and a waterproof are useful in Somerset weather.

Getting in

Main public entrances; Boxing Day gates 10:30 Advance tickets are emailed and can be shown on a phone or printed. Walk-up tickets are offered for fixtures that have not sold out unless that fixture says otherwise; on-the-day payment is card only. Wincanton does not publish a single all-season gate opening time or a general bag-size rule on its visitor pages, so this guide gives the confirmed event-specific details rather than guessing.

Accessibility

Wincanton lists accessible facilities across its public enclosures, including accessible toilets, accessible catering and marked viewing areas. The Premier has an elevated viewing platform overlooking the winning post and reserved wheelchair space in the Hatherleigh viewing area; the Grandstand has a raised outdoor viewing area. Accessible parking is available close to the entrance gates, though spaces are limited on Boxing Day. One complimentary personal assistant ticket is available where needed; call 01963 435840 on the same day as buying the racegoer’s ticket to guarantee availability. Hospitality restaurants and boxes have lift access. Contact Wincanton before booking if you need a particular space or route.
