Where your ticket takes you

Not included

The view

Hexham uses the contours of a hillside natural amphitheatre, so the Paddock has wide views of the course and surrounding countryside. The enclosure also brings you close to the Parade Ring, winners enclosure and saddling boxes, making it easy to watch the horses before and after each race. There is an accessible viewing area below the Parade Ring. Much of the day is outdoors, and the course sits about 600 feet above town, so expect changeable conditions.

Food and drink

The Paddock has several named bars and a café, as well as food outlets around the course.

Princess Anne Bar

On the east side of the complex, with drinks, snacks, a large betting office and television screens.

The Shire Bar

On the west side of the grounds, serving drinks and hot snacks, with betting facilities and screens.

Bramble Tudor Bar & Café

At the top of the Parade Ring, with drinks and snacks. Other food outlets and fast food are also available.

Facilities

Betting

Bookmakers stand in the betting ring. There is a William Hill shop in Princess Anne Bar and Britbet windows near the Princess Anne and Shire Bars.

Cover and seating

The Queen Camilla Stand offers shelter and a bar. Outdoor picnic benches are available at some fixtures, and bars provide indoor breaks.

Cash and card

There is no cash machine at the racecourse, but cash and card are accepted throughout. Hexham recommends bringing the payment method you prefer.

Accessible facilities

Accessible toilets are near the Parade Ring and behind Princess Anne Bar. A designated disabled viewing area is below the Parade Ring.

Dress code

Hexham has no strict dress code in the Paddock. Jeans and shorts are allowed, but football tops are not; fancy dress is permitted if it is respectable and not offensive. The course recommends dressing appropriately for the weather. This is an exposed hillside venue, so a waterproof outer layer and sturdy shoes are sensible even on a mild day.

Getting in

Enter at the main public entrance with your Paddock ticket ready. Gate times differ by fixture and are published on the relevant raceday page. Adult 2026 tickets are £12 in advance or £15 on raceday; concessions are £10 or £12. Under-18s are free with an adult. Free courtesy buses run from Hexham rail and bus stations on a first come, first served basis; seats cannot be guaranteed.

Accessibility

Blue Badge parking is on the tarmac behind the Bramble and Tudor Bars and Henderson Suite; show the badge and ask stewards to direct you close to entry. The disabled viewing area is in the Paddock below the Parade Ring. Accessible toilets are near the Parade Ring and Princess Anne Bar. Two mobility scooters can be hired if arranged by email in advance. A carer accompanying a paying disabled customer receives complimentary Paddock or Club admission when booked through the racecourse office. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout.

Children and families

Under-18s receive free admission to the Paddock when accompanied by an adult. Hexham’s event pages sometimes ask families to register children by booking a free ticket, so follow the selected fixture’s ticketing steps. Family activities such as garden games are offered at selected racedays rather than every meeting. Keep children with you near the rail, betting areas and busy walkways.

Tips

Upgrading

Upgrade to Club if you want the Chase Bar and Club Lawn; Hexham lists the 2026 Club ticket at £20 in advance or £23 on raceday if available. The Curlew Room and Henderson Suite hospitality packages include Club entry and a reserved indoor table.
