Where your ticket takes you

Not included

The view

The Grandstand is the best option if you want to move around the course. Both public enclosures offer trackside viewing, while the Grandstand has tiered steps and access to the Parade Ring and Winners’ Enclosure. You can watch the horses being saddled and paraded before a race, then choose a trackside spot or the steps for the finish. The Grandstand ticket also includes the central Course Enclosure, so you can switch between those views and its open picnic areas.

Food and drink

The Grandstand has the broadest food choice at Redcar, ranging from seated hospitality to casual food.

Crow’s Nest Restaurant

A separately booked three-course dine-and-view package with a reserved table, admission and private Tote.

Voltigeur Bistro

A hospitality restaurant with a two- or three-course menu, table service, TVs and a balcony over the Winners’ Enclosure.

Zetland Bar and Food Court

The bar and buffet provides race-day meals, including the Dish of the Day; the Food Court and takeaway vans provide additional snacks and food.

Malton & Middleham Bars

Named bars listed by Redcar alongside the Zetland Bar and restaurant facilities.

Facilities

Betting

There is a betting ring, William Hill shop and Tote windows in the Grandstand area.

Screens

A big screen operates on all racedays and TVs in cafés and bars show the racing, runners and riders, approximate odds and other meetings.

Parking

Free general parking is available. Grandstand visitors can reserve limited free trackside parking when buying admission; it is separate from the main entrance car park.

Picnic rules

Personal food and drink are not allowed into the Grandstand Enclosure; picnics are for the Course Enclosure.

Dress code

There is no formal dress code at Redcar, so smart clothes, casual clothes and jeans are accepted. The racecourse recommends smart casual for hospitality guests, but this is not a requirement for general Grandstand admission. Most viewing is outdoors, so comfortable shoes and a waterproof layer are useful.

Getting in

Use the Grandstand main entrance off Redcar Lane, postcode TS10 2FD. Pre-paid tickets and annual badge holders may also enter via the Course Enclosure; Lumley Road is not an entrance and is exit-only after the fifth race. The admission page lists gate payment by cash or card and warns that ticket checks and bag searches may take place. Grandstand holders can use both enclosures.

Accessibility

Redcar offers a free Digital Access Card and a companion ticket process for those who need essential assistance. Reserved Blue Badge parking is available in both enclosures. The Grandstand entrance is on Redcar Lane; ask access officer Amy Fair at info@redcarracing.co.uk or 01642 484 068 about accessible viewing, toilets or routes within the older buildings. The racecourse notes that some facilities date from the 1960s.
