Where your ticket takes you

Not included

The view

Grandstand gives you open-air views around Wolverhampton’s floodlit Tapeta track and the option to watch from the public grandstand. You can move between the trackside, Parade Ring and pre-parade ring through the meeting. Seating is limited, with most public seats outdoors; a reserved seat is only included with a package that explicitly says so.

Food and drink

The ticket opens up the public bars and food concessions; outlets vary with the fixture.

Public bars

Public bars serve alcoholic and soft drinks. They are cashless and accept card or contactless payment.

Public eateries

Food concessions operate around the public areas; the lineup varies with expected attendance and the fixture.

A Day at the Races offer

On 23 October 2026, a limited advance offer cost £22.50 and included Grandstand admission, racecard, a pint of Carlsberg or soft drink and a traditional pie.

Facilities

Betting

Public bookmakers and Britbet/Tote outlets are available. Bookmakers take cash and some take debit cards; no cash machines are on site.

Seating

General admission has limited seating and most of it is outside. Chairs are not allowed at weekend fixtures unless needed for medical reasons, at the safety officer’s discretion.

Racecard

A free digital racecard is available on the morning of racing; printed copies can be bought on site.

Toilets

Accessible toilets are available in every enclosure.

Dress code

There is no strict formal dress code for Grandstand. Sports team shirts, offensive fancy dress, ripped jeans and sports trainers are not allowed. Smart casual clothing is common, but the course is mostly outdoors: bring a waterproof layer for winter evenings and comfortable shoes for walking around the track.

Getting in

Use the Grandstand turnstiles, not the hotel entrance used for Premier and hospitality tickets. Gates typically open 90 minutes to two hours before the first race; use the fixture page for the meeting time. Mobile tickets scan from a phone or tablet. No food or drink, including alcohol, may be brought into the racecourse; gate payments are by card.

Accessibility

The course map marks an accessible viewing platform. The FAQ says Grandstand has no dedicated wheelchair viewing area, while accessible toilets are available in every enclosure. Blue Badge spaces are near the main entrance and hotel, first come, first served. Buy a full-price ticket first; a personal assistant can claim free entry with proof of need, and advance email at least 24 hours ahead is advised. Contact the course to discuss the marked platform and route.

Children and families

Children aged 17 and under usually go free with a full-paying adult; each adult can bring up to three children. Collect a free ticket at the ticket office or turnstile on the day. Some Festival and Live After Racing events are excluded. The published pages do not list an age-specific Grandstand price outside this rule.

Tips

Upgrading

The racecourse FAQ says you can ask at hotel reception to upgrade to another enclosure on the day if there is space.
