The racecourse’s current hospitality listing gives Plymouth Carvery from £77.50 per person including badge and racecard. The separate dine-with-a-view detail page still shows an older £69.50 rate, so the current listing is used here. The Plymouth Box page does not publish a 2026 price. These are advance hospitality prices; no on-the-day rates are listed.
Where your ticket takes you
- The Plymouth Carvery Restaurant on the first floor, with a shared table reserved for the afternoon.
- The Plymouth Box, also on the first floor, described by the racecourse as a hospitality area for up to 40 guests.
- The ground-floor Members Area, reserved for Annual Members and their guests, not ordinary Premier Badge holders.
- The stand is opposite the Paddock and Winners’ Enclosure, with the Grandstand and Clive Pavilion nearby.
Not included
- Access to the ground-floor Members Area with an ordinary restaurant package unless the ticket explicitly includes a Members day badge; the carvery package does include its stated badge.
- A private carvery table for one small party: tables are normally shared by groups of ten, with private tables sometimes available for groups of 10 or 12.
The view
The Plymouth Stand is opposite the Paddock and Winners’ Enclosure. The first-floor Carvery Restaurant gives an elevated position with a three-course meal, while the Plymouth Box is the private option above the course. The current racecourse description says the box can host up to 40 guests, and the VIP page describes watching racing from above after a carvery meal. A restaurant package includes a shared table for the day; private restaurant seating may be available for groups of 10 or 12. The ground floor is an Annual Members’ area, distinct from the restaurant floor. From the stand, guests can step outside to move around the public viewing areas and see horses in the paddock.
Food and drink
The Plymouth Stand is centred on its three-course carvery; the Members’ area below has a bar and additional food for purchase.

Dress code
Ludlow does not enforce a formal dress code. Its FAQ says smart or informal dress is recommended for dining and members’ areas, and advises everyone to dress for the weather. A suit, hat or dress is optional. The Carvery Restaurant and Plymouth Box are indoors, but racegoers will likely spend part of the afternoon outside and move between the stand, paddock and Grandstand. Bring a warm coat and shoes suitable for winter ground. If your group wants to wear fancy dress, contact the racecourse in advance. There is no stated separate dress code for the Plymouth Stand beyond the general dining guidance.
Getting in
Book Plymouth Carvery or Plymouth Box hospitality through Ludlow’s hospitality team at 01584 856221 or dianethomas@ludlowracecourse.co.uk. The carvery is on the first floor of the Plymouth Stand; the Annual Members’ area is on the ground floor. The racecourse says restaurants and boxes use lift access. Gates normally open two hours before the first race; on 22 October 2026, the scheduled first race is 1:45pm, with gates at 11:45am. Digital tickets are scanned from a phone. The Carvery package includes the stated admission badge; follow the booking confirmation for your package’s arrival arrangements. The page does not publish a separate bag policy.
Accessibility
Ludlow’s accessibility page says lifts serve hospitality suites, step-free access reaches key public areas, and accessible toilets are available near the Grandstand and hospitality areas. Blue Badge parking close to the entrance is limited and must be requested in advance. Accessible viewing is available near the winning line; stewards can direct visitors. Carer or personal-assistant admission is complimentary when arranged in advance, not on the day. Contact the office at least 48 hours before where possible and provide accepted evidence such as a DLA or PIP award letter or medical professional’s letter with photo ID. Ask which table or Plymouth Box route best fits your requirements.
Children and families
Children aged 17 and under go free with an adult at most Ludlow meetings, although Festival and Live After Racing fixtures are exceptions. The Carvery package price covers hospitality food, but the venue does not publish a separate child meal price. Ask whether a child is charged the adult package rate or has a reduced meal option. The ticket page says children may need age proof; under-18s must be accompanied by an adult under the racecourse terms. The Plymouth Box has a capacity of up to 40, so count children in your group total. Public free admission does not include a carvery meal.
Tips
- The current listing puts Plymouth Carvery from £77.50 per person including badge and racecard; the older detail page lists a lower £69.50 rate.
- Ask whether your group can have a private restaurant table; the racecourse mentions private tables for groups of 10 or 12.
- For a private hospitality room, ask about the Plymouth Box capacity of up to 40 and its package inclusions.
- The Members Area is on the ground floor and is reserved for Annual Members and guests; carvery guests use the first floor.
Upgrading
The Plymouth Box is the private alternative to a shared Carvery Restaurant table and can host up to 40 guests. For a larger private room, consider Jubilee boxes; the Annual Members’ Lounge is included with membership, not the standard Carvery package unless the badge is specified.
