Where your ticket takes you
- The Windsor Marquee, positioned between the weighing room and Fairway cafe, opposite the Grandstand.
- A private entrance, bar area and toilets within the marquee.
- Individual tables for lunch on selected race days, or afternoon tea served from midday on other selected meetings.
- A heated, fully lined space with a dance floor for large private functions; raceday access depends on the booked package.
Not included
- Admission on any fixture without a booked marquee package; the venue sells tables only on selected race days.
- A published guarantee that the marquee will be open at every feature meeting; the racecourse says it operates on certain dates.
The view
The Windsor Marquee is close to the track, between the weighing room and Fairway cafe, opposite the Grandstand. It is a covered, heated dining space with its own entrance and bar. Its hospitality table gives a place to eat during the meeting, but the course does not promise a view from every table or describe the marquee as a stand with a direct finish view. Visitors can leave the marquee to use the public viewing areas and return for their table booking. Ludlow uses the marquee for additional hospitality on feature dates and has previously offered both lunch and afternoon tea, so the exact dining format depends on the meeting.
Food and drink
The marquee offer changes by fixture: the racecourse sells individual lunch tables on some days and afternoon tea on others.
Lunch tables
Individual tables are available on selected racedays. The menu and package are confirmed for the relevant meeting.
Afternoon tea
On some meetings, the marquee sells afternoon tea served from midday onwards.
Marquee bar
The marquee has its own bar area. Whether drinks are included in a table package is not specified in the general description.
Feature-day extras
At some meetings the marquee hosts extra hospitality and event activity; the racecourse describes it as a flexible venue for dining and larger celebrations.
Facilities
Own entrance and toilets
The Windsor Marquee has a separate entrance, bar area and toilets.
Heated, lined interior
The hospitality listing describes the marquee as heated and fully lined, giving guests an indoor base in winter.
Large capacity
The current hospitality listing describes trackside dining for groups of about 300–500 on feature days; the venue hire page states it seats 300–500 for lunch.
Dance floor
For private hire, the marquee has a dance floor and stocked bar; raceday table packages are different from whole-venue hire.
Dress code
Ludlow has no strict dress code. The racecourse suggests smart informal clothing for dining and recommends dressing for the weather. Feature days such as Ladies Day attract visitors who choose to dress up, but formalwear is not required by the published rule. The marquee is heated and indoors, though the entrance, trackside area and public viewing spaces are outdoors. Wear comfortable shoes and take a coat for moving between the marquee and the course. If your group plans fancy dress, the racecourse asks visitors to contact it in advance.
Getting in
The Windsor Marquee has its own entrance, between the weighing room and Fairway cafe and opposite the Grandstand. It is open for hospitality only on selected racedays; the venue names feature meetings including Tanners Race Day and Ladies Day but does not publish a full 2026 day-by-day marquee calendar. Book the table through the hospitality team on 01584 856221 or office@ludlowracecourse.co.uk. Public gates usually open two hours before the first race; the event page provides the meeting time. No separate bag policy or marquee arrival time is published. General parking is free, while limited Blue Badge spaces near the main entrance must be requested in advance.
Accessibility
The marquee’s own entrance and toilets are listed, and Ludlow’s general accessibility page says step-free access is available to key public areas, catering is positioned with accessibility in mind, and stewards can help visitors find the closest suitable viewing area. Accessible viewing is available near the winning line. Blue Badge parking near the main entrance is limited and must be requested ahead. One personal assistant can be admitted free with an eligible guest, but approval must be arranged before race day; the course advises contacting staff at least 48 hours before where possible. Ask the hospitality team about the marquee entrance threshold, table position and toilet route if your party needs specific adjustments.
Children and families
Under-18s attend Ludlow free with an adult at most meetings, although Festival and Live After Racing dates are excluded. Marquee lunch and afternoon-tea packages are separately priced hospitality, and the venue does not publish a child meal price or reduced table rate. Ask the hospitality team whether a child’s admission is included and how their meal is charged for the selected fixture. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult under the racecourse terms. The marquee’s general lunch capacity is 300–500, but the package page does not provide a child-specific seating plan.
Tips
- The marquee is not open for every meeting: ask whether tables or afternoon tea are sold for the fixture you are booking.
- Its own entrance, bar and toilets make it convenient for a group that wants to stay together for lunch.
- Ask for the table’s position if a track view matters; the venue does not promise a direct race view from every seat.
- No 2026 price is published on the general marquee page, so get the rate for the selected date from the hospitality office.
Upgrading
For a smaller indoor booking, consider the Jubilee Restaurant or a private box in the Jubilee or Plymouth Stand. The Windsor Marquee is the larger feature-day option, with individual tables and occasional afternoon-tea service.
