Where your ticket takes you

Not included

The view

Lawn offers outdoor viewing with a view of the Parade Ring. The course markets it as a relaxed family area; the playground and Victor Lucas Bar are its named anchors. Because Lawn sits outside, the experience depends more on weather than the covered hospitality rooms. If you want to move up to Tattersalls or County, choose County admission at a County Raceday or another ticket that explicitly grants those additional areas.

Food and drink

The Lawn page names its bar and permits a light picnic, subject to the food and drink policy.

Victor Lucas Bar

The Lawn page names this as the bar for adults, with the playground nearby for children.

Light picnic

The FAQ permits a light picnic in Lawn. It must not contain glass, metal or alcohol.

Course food stalls

Food and drink stalls around the site sell hot and cold food, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks; visitors must use the outlets for alcohol.

Facilities

Children’s playground

A play area is inside the Lawn Enclosure, making it the public area specifically promoted for family visits.

Toilets

The access guide lists public toilets by the Lawn entrance and opposite the play park.

Seating and furniture

Seating is available around the site on a first-come basis. On feature meetings, fold-up furniture is only permitted in Lawn; on County and Family Extravaganza days the course permits it in all enclosures.

Ground surfaces

Market Rasen describes surfaces as a mix of patio, tarmac and grass, with carpet inside bars.

Dress code

Market Rasen has no formal dress code and invites visitors to wear what feels comfortable. Fancy dress can be worn in Lawn if it is not offensive or inappropriate. This is a largely outdoor area with grass as well as paved surfaces, so flat shoes and a waterproof layer are a practical choice.

Getting in

The Lawn entrance is step-free according to the accessibility guide. Blue Badge parking is about 200 metres from this entrance, first come first served; the site’s general car parks are free. For County Raceday on 8 October 2026, gates were listed at 11.55am, first race at 1.56pm and last at 4.48pm; fixture times vary. Tickets arrive by email for phone or home printing. The FAQ does not publish a bag-size allowance.

Accessibility

The Lawn entrance is step-free and the course grounds are mostly flat, with some gradual declines. Blue Badge spaces are around 200 metres away in the main public car park and are first come first served. Public toilets are listed beside the entrance and opposite the play park. One complimentary personal-assistant ticket can be applied for with valid admission and evidence of eligibility. If you need to know the path surface or the distance from parking in more detail, contact Market Rasen on 01673 843434.

Children and families

Lawn is the enclosure promoted for families: it has a playground, and under-18s attend most fixtures free when accompanied. Child tickets are subject to availability and may be limited at busy meetings; a small number of fixtures require a paid ticket for children. A responsible adult aged 21 or over, or a parent, must accompany under-18s. Children aged 15 and under stay with that adult throughout, and one adult can bring up to three under-18s.

Tips

Upgrading

A County ticket opens both Lawn and Tattersalls as well as County. The racecourse lists County Raceday admission at £10 online or £16 on the day for 2026 meetings.
